Some thoughts for the Film Director.
I visualise the photography as black and white or sepia with numerous close-ups and extreme close-ups using soft focus filters .
There is ‘no’ fast or extreme movement in this film either of the characters or the camera.
In my mind’s eye the audience never see Joseph’s face. He is a man in his early 40s, well groomed well dressed with a smooth well modulated voice. When Joseph is with Giulietta, I see the camera showing his well-groomed hands and expensive styled clothing as he touches her. The camera is “Joseph” during these scenes.
Mario. There is nothing special about him. He is in his early 40s Giulietta is a good looking woman. She dresses well. I visualise her with large expressive eyes, talking slowly. She is in her late 30s.
Music is played by a solo instrumentalist. This musician is a motif character seen throughout the film and may be seen during scenes either close or distant from the characters.
He/she is observing the story. The characters in the story may speak some of their lines to the musician, but the musician gives no response.

EXT. DAY. A SMALL PUBLIC PARK _
Two young boys are playing cricket. One is bowling and other is batting. We hear the boys shouting. “Give me a Googly” “No, a Yorker” “Fore” Huzzat”.The two boys are having fun and enjoying their game. The camera wanders around the two boys with medium and close-up camera shots of this two person cricket game. One boy bowls. The boy batting tries to hit the ball and misses.
BOY ONE
Leg before wicket. You’re out.
BOY TWO
I’m not. You’re not looking properly.
BOY ONE
It’s LBW. Leg before wicket. Out. My turn to bat.
BOY TWO
You’re bowling wrong. It’s a no ball.
BOY ONE
Stupid. You know nothing about cricket. You are out, out, out. Leg before wicket.
BOY TWO (angry)
There.
The time is now, in a city somewhere in Europe.
EXT. DAY. A ROCKY BEACH.
A man and woman with binoculars are looking at the beach from a distance. The man is MARTIN. He is rough looking. The woman is young. This is MINA.
MARTIN
I can see the dinghy. It’s crowded as usual. Men, women,
kids.
AMINA
There’s no sign of the police or anyone in fact.
MARTIN
Good. We’ll move in as soon as they start to land. I reckon we have about thirty minutes before the dinghy reaches shore.
AMINA
You take the food and drink packets. I‘ll do the other ones.
MARTIN
Ok.
AMINA
And Martin, smile when you do it. You don’t smile enough.
MARTIN
Yeah. We want them to believe our bullshit.
AMINA
That should please Hoff.

INT. DAY. AN AIRPORT IN AFRICA.
Sonya and Paul, two Europeans, are saying goodbye to a visitor, a European woman, obviously over-dressed for the tropics. She gives Sonya a kiss and shakes hands with Paul.
WOMAN
Your development aid project, Paul, has achieved so much more than we expected. But, you must understand with a new government i place, there will be new projects, exciting projects and new priorities. We await with expectation your exit strategy.
The woman goes through the gate to the departure lounge. Paul and Sonya wave to her and turn to leave the airport.
